Color Collage: Greige

Written by Jessica Comingore

When it comes to holiday color schemes, I tend to veer away from tradition. I never quite got on board with the idea of stowing away decorations all year that only make an appearance for a few weeks. Instead, I’ve adopted a few ways of integrating some holiday spirit into my home, but with items I can use year-round. And in regards to the palette, I love a blend of warm neutrals, like greige. I first heard the word “greige” used when I was working in interior design years back, and it’s always stuck with me. Simply put, it’s that perfect hue between grey and beige that pairs with most any color and elevates most any setting. Try incorporating it into your space with a velvety throw pillow, a living room rug, or a sculptural ceramic piece.

I had never heard of greige, until someone pointed out that my family name was a color, haha. It’s been one of my favorite colors ever since!

      Haha, that’s awesome! I don’t blame you… it’s a good one. 🙂

What is that heavenly paint color? It’s the unicorn I’ve been looking for.

Ah, I wish I could tell you, but that is just a color from Photoshop created for this collage. Good luck with your search!

One of my favorite colors — I’m so happy I finally know what it’s called! Such a beautiful collage, too.
