With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday this year, we thought it’d be a fun opportunity to rethink tradition and modernize the somewhat dated ideas that come along with the holiday. Jewelry? Roses? Dinner reservations? No thanks. In lieu of spending the day alongside other couples suckered into doing the same, we teamed up with Spartan for a modern take on a Valentine’s (or Galentine’s) Day at home.
With or without a partner, there’s no denying we can all use a little reminder in our lives to celebrate those who make our heart sing. So this time around, use the day as an excuse to gather around the table for a bit of indulging with someone you love. After all, those are always the occasions that make for the best memories, February 14th or not.
In typical E-E fashion, our tablescape was inspired by the season of love, but paired down to only the necessities. Using soft pink as our palette, we layered in touches of brass and linen for a setting that could work morning, noon or night. As for the menu, we’ll leave that up to you, but for starters — the simpler the better. Heart-shaped pancakes, homemade pizza, or a simple cheese plate and plenty of sparkling rosé are all fun ideas to get in the Valentine’s Day spirit. And don’t forget a pile of French macarons to satisfy your sweet tooth. Scroll down for a list of all of the beautiful products we used for the occasion, including my new favorite (front and center) vase by Kati Von Lehman… swoon.
